(Article: Spending for Stability)

The article raises an important issue of the Right of Self Determination of Nations but does not give any factual analysis or examples of discrimination on ethnic basis. The only indication available is the occasional protests and the number killed also is confined to hundreds at the most based on Western Media reports. Unlike Sri Lanka or India, China has taken development to all regions without discrimination, building the world's highest bridge to Tibet and the like. The life expectancy in Tibet has douled since Liberation. Also the literacy rate in Tibet is 95% compared to 65% for the whole of India. The figures are too high to suggest exclusion of Tibettans. However the right of Self Determination is a different kettle of fish and facts are scarce in this regard. One would have had expectations in this regard in Mao's China and the present China is certainly some distance away from Mao's China. Mao introduces the Cultural Revolution for the first time in history and hopefully some will remember and hence that will draw back China to Mao's China just as Eelam Tamils will remember the LTTE Era (inspite of the mistakes) and move forward towards Liberation.
