So long as a leader however experienced and with links to world leaders as a result of his position based on the people's confidence in him for their emancipation from positionof sujucated people in their once kingdom and changes tunes once in mids of those who caused their pain and anguish for decades and show no remose except go after thosewho question their motives of continued sujucation by their continued action, then the said leader lost the trust of his people and time fo people to think of the future in collective leadership and not rely on one man or women.

Rev Rayappu stands out as a courageous tamil unlike some elected or unelected politians.Eelam tamils died for the land of tamils and at the rate eelam tamil land are sold to those keen on control of tamil and and change the democgaphy of tamil eelam like in easten province like selling cattles and goats in the 50's,whoever stood up to the vision of tamil and in the hands of tamils not soldfor few rupees, then time for tamil land not sold for others but returned to theowners of land held by those before the war in 2009.

I read sumanthiran's speach inparliament and laughing all the way the wayhe says the truth and nothing butthe truth of the mentality ofsinhalese leaders whether president or others not changed since 1948.

Telling as it is-President takeoath on constitution not implement. what he says he will implement.Fool the world Now the international comunity is aware of their mindset.There is no point inwasting on another commitee to talk on talk by tna with govt.

But he was wrong, wrong and wrong to say tamils did not ask forelam.Of cause they didnot want a tamileelam nation as such but the tamileelam self determination within a united srilanka.They are both different perceptions stop playing with words as such and make itplain to the clever but uneducated masses of tamileelam that tamils can call themselvesbeong to tamileelam without a separate nation of tamils of east and north but by re-merging north and east as under 1987 indo sl agreement which had its chief minister .

Sam, if tamils did not support the LTTE, the sinhala extremists would have completed the genocide by year 1990. Only ignorant people can utter such statement as 'if they didn't support LTTE'.

Sumanthiran is trying the old failed tactic of past moderate tamil leaders trying to pacify the sinhala leaders to get the solution. Unless, Sumanthiran is giving a 'long rope' to hang the GOSL and probably has backing of US. However I doubt it.

The U.S may tell Sumanthiran 'go along with parliamentary select committee, and if nothing works out, let us look for 'alternatives'. However, this game is dangerous and the big powers are famously known for ditching the minorities as soon as the majority yields to their pressure. Sumanthiran can forego Tamil Eelam, self determination, etc. for his plans. However, if he is ditched eventually by U.S and India, 'there is virtually nothing to go back to'.

If Sumanthiran is just playing with words, Sampanthan has gone to the extent of holding the lion flag with pomp (remember, Ranil did not ask him to do so). Even worse, he has shamelessly defended it when angrily confronted up on by fellow TNA MPs.

Whatever the actions Sampanthan and Sumanthiran are taking, they should be well aware that by going too soft and eventually if they do not achieve anything, they will not only lose their seats, but also would have done irrepairable damage for tamil cause.
