Long live the memory of Kovai Mahesan! Thanks to sri Kantha.

My father used to buy Suthanthiran every Saturday and I became very interested in reading this paper. I saw Kovai Mahesan as a clean Tamil national journalist and his excellent command of Tamil language became an invaluable asset to our struggle. I miss him a lot.

It is important to document the historical fact that Tamil Journalists were harassed by Sinhala govt. for so long. Thanks Dr. Sachi for documenting this in an authentic way for future generaions.

Was Kovai a married man? Did he have children? The way this "authentic documentation" is presented almost implies by its silence he might have been a singleton.
Sachi Sri Kantha (6 Aug. 2012)
I'll answer Thamothiram's query. Yes, Kovai Mahesan was a married man. I have talked with his wife, face to face. But, I'm not sure whether they had any children. The best living person to know about whether Kovai Mahesan had children is not, is M.K.Eelaventhan.
