I must admit that after a long time I have read an intellectually refreshing article that deals with the Tamil issue in Sri Lanka in a pragmatic manner. The writer, although unbeknown to me until I read his brief, but succinct letter, has made such a deep impression on me that I feel compelled to thank him. His proposition that vigorous campaign needs to be undertaken by Tamil diaspora organisations to bring citizenship rights back to those 2.5 million Tamils who were judicially and extra-judicially expelled as a result of the Srimavo - Shasthri Pact and recent government-led pogrom of the Tamils addresses the problem in a manner that it should be addressed and provides an historical insight, which most people seem to have forgotten with the passage of time.

Tamil diaspora would be wasting their time and resources if they were to engage to bring back citizens to those indian tamils.

Further rain on a summer day is not a representaion of trend of rainfall over 50 years let alone 100 years. One need not be a an expert in population projections .Even an o/l student can easily conclude based on statistics of mix of populaiton of tamils,muslism and sinhalese in east let alone north that in a matter of time muslims would dominate eastern province .If sinhalese and muslims unite as tamils and muslims would rather find differences instead of unity, chief minster post could easily fall into the hands of muslims even by today's population mix in east

I could see, from every point of view whether the Eastern province alone or North & East put together, doesn't matter, still -the Tamils are the majority.

The article of above is disclosing the 2001 census.but actual figures of 2012 is far differend than we think.i mean we Tamils.there are 2.8 million muslims in Sri Lanka and whereas Tamils are 2.6 million.it's neccesary to return all those immigrated,to safe guard the Ealam rights.
