| Jaffna University Student Krishnasamy
Thiviyan, who was
arrested on 2 July 2001 by the Sri Lankan armed forces, because he led a
non-violent resistance by University students against army atrocities in
Jaffna, was released today.

We also wish to salute Thiviyan, for his courage and wisdom, at such a tender age, resisting the assault on his people. |
